He skipped a step, is also added a moving shadow on his shirt

  Yeah you can see right before he says "I'm gonna render" there is no shadow. I must have added a light source along with the camera and AfterEffects is adding the shadows from the balls he put in the foreground.

  Also, if you look at the pink ball on the left it appears to be rotating too. He didn't mention anything about that.
