My mechanical engineering buddy said he and his classmates did the exact same thing 25 years ago when they were in university. Major problem: that much kinetic energy stored in a 15 lb. spinning vertical disc will have a VERY strong tendency to keep going STRAIGHT AHEAD in the same direction, making turning very difficult (one of Newtown's Laws). I can't believe he doesn't know about it so he must be ignoring it in this video to boast about how smart he is. And the CNC milling machine is neat, but he acts like nobody would know about it - but anyone who watches "American Chopper" knows what that machine is!
