GoPro keeps filming after being engulfed in molten lava

This is the moment a GoPro gets doused in molten lava — but keeps on shooting.

The hot footage happened when Erik Storm, the owner and lead tour guide of Kilauea EcoGuides in Hawaii, was giving a tour around a volcano and decided to wedge his GoPro in a crack to film the lava flow.

But the lava moved too quickly and Storm was unable to grab the cam in time.

“I was telling a story when the molten lava completely engulfed my GoPro,” Storm told Petapixel.com. “I used a geology rock hammer to pull it out of the lava and thought it was a total loss.”

The camera appeared to be destroyed from the lava, but Storm was able to retrieve the footage from the device’s SD card.

The short video shows the lava flowing, before the camera gets completely engulfed.
