Seat Belt Safety Simulator - 5 mph
On Sept. 17, 2015, the Connecticut State Police teamed up with the University of Hartford Department of Public Safety to bring "The Convincer" to the UHart campus. Students were able to experience what a "5 MPH car accident" would feel like.

  Or Nils Bohlin who designed them at Volvo in '59. Volvo gave away the design, no patent or copyright.

"That is 5mph crash; just parking lot crash" is not that true. Why? Because here in 5mph you stop instantaneously, which does not happen in a car. I would say this is equivalent to at least 15mph in a real crash.

  It is instant at 5mph if you hit something. Crumple zones and other such absorption features are not going to work until there are higher speeds.
